We all want to find the right balance in life, and sometimes that can be complicated. Juggling work and home responsibilities, professional life with personal, dietary needs and budget constraints, time and convenience - the process of obtaining, cooking, and eating food can seem far more stressful than it needs to be. Harmony Co-op is committed to helping you save money on delicious, sustainable food at affordable prices, so you don't have to compromise; we want to help you spend your time doing the things you love while feeding your family healthy, nutritious, and tasty food. Our Co+op Basics program offers everyday low prices on many popular grocery and household items to fulfill this need; with selections in every aisle, from breakfast bars and cereal to toilet paper and dish soap, and including as many organic and sustainably-produced items as possible.
Our co-op ends statements and the seven cooperative principles - the foundations of our operation, practices, and growth as a whole - are oriented around value to our local community. The co-op basics program helps us fulfill this mission, both through value in the financial sense, by helping our community save money for themselves, but also through value in the sense of intrinsic importance. We want to help you save - not just saving money, but saving time and worry. Providing nutritious and sustainable food at affordable prices helps promote regenerative agriculture (organic growing practices help reduce carbon in the atmosphere, thereby reducing the effects of climate change) as well as benefiting people on an individual physical level so we're working to help save the planet, too!
Co+op basics helps you save every day. It doesn't just mean whatever you're cooking up for dinner (though the assortment of staples like cooking oils, salad dressing, pasta sauce and canned vegetables mean that no matter the meal, cuisine, or diet, we have you covered) but household goods like cleaning products, personal care and hygiene products as well. We know life isn't just about food, and having a healthy lifestyle includes dimensions beyond just diet.
Co+op basics doesn't just provide freedom for your budget, it provides variety with an assortment of staple items and ingredients. The sky is the limit for healthy, fresh-made meals the whole family can enjoy no matter their dietary needs. This Mexican-inspired beans and rice recipe is vegan, gluten-free, and a plant-based complete protein full of veggies; it's also delicious and as fun to look at as it is to eat.
As a community-owned cooperative store, Harmony is always striving to promote the needs of our owners, neighbors, employees, and suppliers in an ethical way as well as fiscal; our Co+op Basics program is just one of the many ways in which we work to promote healthy eating options for all our customers. We offer a biweekly Fresh Deals flyer, spotlighting produce and perishable goods and delicious recipes, as well as participating in the National Cooperative Grocers' Co+op Deals sale program. Anyone and everyone can benefit from the Co+op Basics, Co+op Deals and Fresh Deals sales - you don't have to be an owner to save, though owners do get some special deals, spotlighted in our monthly Owner Deals flyer. As Bemidji's only downtown full-service grocery store, Harmony is uniquely positioned to serve the needs of the entire community, and helping you save money on delicious, healthy food that also helps make a positive environmental impact - we love that most of all!
